Welcoming Our New Membership Developement Officer

29 year old Clare native Ciaran O ‘ Connell has been recently appointed
to the new post of Membership Development Officer, with one of the
International Festival and Event Association’s oldest Regional Chapters – IFEA
Europe .

Ciaran is an honours science graduate from the Limerick Institute of
Technology and originally worked in project management before moving into
the world of Events and Marketing .

He has spent 5 years working with Ground 4, a Dublin based , but nationally
focused Marketing Agency and counts seven seasons of progression with one
of Ireland’s oldest and largest festival the Rose of Tralee – as a volunteer and
contracted event producer for the past four years.

He has extensive travel behind him – covering most of Europe on an InterRail
Trip in the early noughties and having taken a sabbatical 1 8 months to back
pack around the world.

Ciaran will be based in all the Ryanair Airports of Europe but will be anchored
to the IFEA Europe Admin offices in the West of Ireland – with the AOIFE

He will work alongside IFEA Europe Director Colm Croffy, Network
Development Officer Claire Heskin.

Commenting on his appointment IFEA Europe Chair Allan Grige ( Denmark) stated “ We are really looking forward to re- igniting the sector for this our 20th Anniversary year and see Ciaran’s new role as key, to animating
our Mariabor Behind the scenes, the Inaugural Student Summer Camp in
Catalyuna and our 20th Conference in Holland this October , we wish him well”.
