Slight adjustments of programme and great price deals. Carnival floats are being painted and polished, and speakers are preparing great presentations. Yes, IFEA Europe’s 2014 conference in Nice is coming up in 5 weeks…..so what are you waiting for?

IFEA EUROPE’s ANNUAL CONFERENCE 2014 GOES BEHIND THE SCENES AT THE WORLD FAMOUS NICE CARNIVAL. http://www.nicecarnaval.com/en/index.php

ABOUT THE CONFERENCE

Featuring a series of presentations from high-profile speakers, held in an informal workshop atmosphere with added attractive social programmes, the Nice Conference is the time and place for festival organisers, city officials, and researchers in the fields of tourism and culture to meet, learn, exchange ideas and network as delegates explore how festivals position themselves as contemporary expressions of the soul of cities throughout the world, reflecting the spirit of local citizens.

A one-day pre-conference Master Class (Thursday Feb. 13th) is offered to students, newcomers to the events business as well as attendees with a particular interest in exploring the ‘how-to’ of the industry. We will put festivals into an academic context, explore socio-economic aspects of events, and discuss trends in event management education. The Master Class is held at the Ipag Business School

The main Conference Seminar, held at Plaza Hotel Boscolo on Friday, Feb. 14th, will feature high-profile speakers. They will present insiders’ views on a range of prestigious “city trademark” festivals, revealing how they programme, build marketing strategies, secure funding, and engage participants and audiences. Session will provide plenty of opportunity for interactive discussion and debate. The evening will feature an informal social networking gathering.

On Saturday, February 15th, we shall go “Behind the Scenes” at the Nice Opera House and the Nice Carnival. A session on Sponsorship will be held at the Nice Opera House in the morning. After lunch, delegates shall have VIP seating for both the FLOWER PARADE, and later that evening the CARNIVAL PARADE.

Before departure on Sunday, February 16th, delegates will have an opportunity to attend the launch of the Nice 2014 Rock n’ Roll Marathon, meet its organisers, and experience the Carnival floats’ workshop.

Delegate’s partners are welcome to attend the social programmes (pay separately). Students of event management and tourism are offered a special delegate rate (NB: Limited number of spaces!).

ACCOMMODATION: The Boscolo B4 Plaza Hotel Nice serves as our headquarter hotel and conference facility. Located right in the centre of Nice overlooking the spectacular new city park and with views of the waterfront area from most rooms, it will provide a memorable setting for the conference. Booking must be made by submitting the Hotel Order Form that will be sent to you via e-mail within a week of your registration.

Programme updated 4th January 2014. May be subject to change.
