Swiss Paleo Festival is coming!

Started in 1976 with 1,800 people attending it, Paléo Festival is one of the most important musical events in Europe.

Paléo now hosts more than 250 concerts and shows on a 84-hectare site, entertaining around 230,000 spectators every year. To this day, over 5 million people have contributed to this unwavering popular success. For more than twelve years, the Festival has been sold out before it even started and enjoys an ever-growing reputation. In 2013, over 600 media professionals covered an edition that was noted for some unforgettable shows and a variety of architectural and artistic structures inviting dreamlike contemplation.

The Paléo Festival sets out to create a marriage of concert and carnival, to create a kaleidoscopic event that will stimulate public curiosity for new artists and less well-known musical styles. Over the years it has widened its range of musical styles and come to include circus and street performance as well. This year the six specially constructed stages play host to This year Elton Jonh,
Stromae, The Prodigy, 30 Seconds to Mars, James Blunt and many more.

The particular nature of Paléo is also due to the fact that the Festival is organized and run by 4,300 volunteers whose presence on site contributes massively to the event’s character. One essential notion that guides the work of the organisers: everything must be done in a spirit of respect for the artists, the spectators and the Festival staff present. Paleo Festival has also the fundamental aim of staying financially independent therefore it doesn’t receive public financial assistance, whilst remaining accessible to all potential audiences practicing a policy of affordable prices.
