The first IFEA EUROPE regional conference in Romania is hosted by ArCUB, the official cultural organisation of Bucharest, on the occasion of the celebration of Bucharest’s 555th Anniversary and the opening of the new cultural center in the historic Gabroveni Inn located in the Old Town. The conference features a Master Class on cultural sponsorship, a special stream focusing on opportunities for cities to be named official EU cultural capitals, and other themes. Delegates shall also have opportunity to explore the cultural life of Bucharest as well as concerts and other festivities on the occasion of the city anniversary celebrations

PROGRAMME:

THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 18th

12.00 – 17.00 hrs at ARCUB HALL (14 Batiste St. ): Master Class for cultural organisers focusing on SPONSORSHIP PROGRAMMES – how to obtain sponsorships, documentation needs, ideas for activation of sponsorship to benefit all parties, etc.. The Master Class provides a good opportunities for exchange of best practice with IFEA’s sponsorship professionals and local cultural operators. (Optional; fee required to participiate).

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 19th:

Held at Gabroveni Inn – Exhibition Hall, from 12.00 pm – 14.00 hrs and 16.00 – 19.00 hrs. 

Theme 1: CULTURAL CAPITALS: Local and international speakers focus on opportunities for cities to become, and succeed as, cultural capitals. 

Keynote speaker: Mr. Trevor Davies; Director of Copenhagen International Theatre; former head of Copenhagen Cultural Capital 1996, former director of Salisbury Festival, and author/strategiest behind the succesful bid for Aarhus Cultural Capital 2017. Other speakers to be announced

Theme 2: NETWORKING between cultural operators including cooperation opportunities with National Cultural Institutes, to establish local festivals and events; 

Theme 3: SPONSORSHIP practices. Recent samples of interesting cultural sponsorships.

20.00 – Dinner (registered members only)

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 20th

Held at Gabroveni Inn – Exhibition Hall, from 10.00 – 13:00 hrs.

10.00 – 13.00: Bus Tour of the city – 3-5 sights with stop opportunities

13.30 –  14.30 Brief conference closing with drinks at the Gabroveni Inn.
